How Father Cyril has built on the start you gave him When Cardinal Napier first wrote about the hungry orphans in Father Cyril Xaba’s parish – many overseas friends opened their hearts to help get a feeding scheme established. Father Cyril himself wasted no time in making his own contribution. At his home he’s turned every bit of spare ground into a flourishing vegetable garden. A regular supply of seasonal produce from here goes straight to the kitchens where the daily meal is prepared for children in critical need of food. This not only ensures the freshest of nutrients but also cuts costs saving Father Cyril from having to drive to the nearest town market and pay retail prices. Bigger and better is his new goal but water is the problem. What Father Cyril needs now is enough money to sink a borehole – and who knows how big or luxuriantly his garden could grow.
